Siyuan Fan 范思源

I am a PhD student in the Department of Political Science at UC San Diego. I obtained my bachelor's degree in School of Economics at Renmin University of China.

My research belongs to comparative politics and political economy, using both formal models and empirical methods to explore:
(i.) how authoritarian states structure society, through infrastructure, media, and centralization reforms,
(ii.) how these structures shape collective actions, political compliance, and authoritarian rule,
(iii.) how society, firms, and citizens strategically respond to these structures.
